Job Description

We are recruiting a Field Maintenance Manager for our rapidly growing Repairs & Improvement Company. This position is responsible for overseeing the continuous improvement of our maintenance process, through organization and planning. Our maintenance department resolves work orders for our managed, customer-owned properties, and assists Real Estate Agent to insure rental properties are “rent ready” throughout the Chicago suburbs. You will report to our Tinley Park office and work full-time in the field with your team of technicians.

Our Field Maintenance Manager will manage our Maintenance Technicians within multiple communities, community types, and provide direct leadership to support staff.  The right candidate will be knowledgeable with Maintenance, Handyman, Rehab, Carpentry, Plumbing, HVAC and more.

The ideal person will have the ability to expand capabilities to handle a broad range of maintenance issues and capable of coaching, training, and developing a team.  As a driven problem solver, you will ensure the Technicians are efficient. 


  • Organize/Prioritize work orders
  • Coordinate/Evaluate work by maintenance team
  • Assist with bidding and execution of large projects on time with quality standards
  • Work with residents and property managers to complete jobs satisfactorily
  • Maintain a clean and safe workspace
  • Perform other duties, as assigned
  • Responsible for leadership, direction, coordination, and performance of all assigned maintenance and facility support activities
  • Hiring technicians, supervising, and training

Qualified candidates will have:

  • Strong knowledge of maintenance and construction concepts, including electrical and mechanical systems
  • Experience with selling maintenance services and project quoting
  • Ability to find and develop relationships with sub-contractors
  • Effective interpersonal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multi-task effectively
  • Deadline and detail-oriented
  • Ability to handle physical workload
  • Prior experience supervising a team
  • 5-10 years of maintenance experience for apartment complexes, condo associations and/or large residential properties
  • Construction tools and smart phone
  • The ability to lift 50+ pounds and climb ladders
